MPNA strives to offer a variety of programming for our members and friends. From workshops to playdates, social events to conferences, field trips to parties, we aim to connect nannies to each other and area resources. Generally speaking, MPNA hosted events are only for nannies (and, often, their partners/spouses) and are not for agencies or employers. Unless otherwise noted, events are open to any nanny regardless of membership. Certain events, as per MPNA event policy, are only open to paid MPNA members. From time to time, we will also post events hosted by community groups and organizations. Many of these events require pre-registration or RSVP, so please be sure to utilize the links provided in the event information.
Please note that we have playdates and meetups almost daily. The vast majority of these events are planned quickly by members of our Michigan Nannies facebook group. We invite all nannies in Michigan to join this group, paid membership in MPNA is not required for participation. This group is restricted to nannies in Michigan, ONLY.
National Nanny Training Day
Saturday, April 29, 2017
National Nanny Training Day is an international event centered around providing high level education to local nannies and childcare providers. This year, MPNA is proud to present "Shedding Light" in conjunction with Kadima Services. This unique and necessary training will provide participants with 8 hours on instruction about Youth Mental Health First Aid. Similar to medical first aid and CPR training, this course will teach nannies, parents, and caregivers how to approach and handle mental health situations and crises in children and how, if necessary, to manage the situation until the appropriate professionals can be present. With mental health and suicidality on the rise and a leading cause of death among U.S. children, we believe this type of training to be just as important as general first and and CPR.
DETAILS: PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED, $20/person includes continental breakfast, lunch, textbook and course materials, raffle prizes, goodie bags, and certificate of training.
